Stage 3. Token Initial Issuance and Distribution
What’s the purpose of this task?
You will need these legal works to transfer the remaining (undistributed) tokens to the on-chain DAO treasury and dissolve the Token company (SPV) as its main task of initial token issuance and distribution will now be completed.
Why do I need to complete this task? What will it allow me to do?
This will help you to:
• Complete the stage of initial token issuance and distribution in a compliant way
• Transfer the
rest of the tokens (the Community Token Pool) to the on-chain treasury of the DAO
• Dissolve the
SPV as it has now served its main purpose
When do I need it? When is the best time to do it?
After completing an initial token distribution and transferring the remaining tokens (the Community Token Pool) to the on-chain DAO Treasury.
How should I do it? Are there any best practices?
After the insiders' pool of the tokens is distributed and the community of token holders is created as a result of the IEO/IDO or the Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool, the Token company transfers the rest of the tokens to the on-chain DAO treasury in the form of grant or escrow agreement. After that, the Token company (token SPV) might be dissolved as it's main purpose to issue and distribute the tokens will have been achieved and completed.
What’s important to remember for this stage?
Before making the decision of Token SPV dissolution its very important to analyze whether the company has fullfiled its obligations and commitments in relation to tokens. Only after confirming that it has done so, should the dissolution process begin.
How much time does it usually take?
This depends on the country chosen for Token Company registration. Usually at least 2 weeks are required to complete this task, however actual times vary depending on individual project requirements.
